Inherent Requirements:
- LLB Degree (completed)
- General practitioner with strong commercial and litigation background.
- 3 years post articles experience
Required experience:
- Drafting and negotiating of commercial agreements.
- Strong knowledge and experience in commercial litigation.
- Familiar with the LRA and BCEA. Labour law experience advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Computer literate (MS Office) advanced
- Own reliable transport.
- Willing to work after hours as per demand of business
Duties and responsibilities:
- Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare pleadings, reports, letters, briefs to advocates, memoranda to clients, and other legal correspondence.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on legislation, policy, and case law to support legal arguments and strategies.
- Case Management: Assist in managing case files, including organizing documents, maintaining records, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs, provide advice, and keep them informed about their cases.
- Court Appearances: Represent clients in court under the supervision of senior attorneys and assist in preparing for trials and hearings.
- Meeting Attendance: Participate in case discussions, strategy meetings, and client meetings to gain practical experience and contribute to case
planning. - Legal Analysis: Analyse legal issues, assess evidence, and develop legal strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and counsel.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties such as filing, document management, and other office tasks to support the legal team.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on legal developments, attend seminars, and participate in professional development activities
