Position: Junior Procurement Assistant Industry: Manufacturing Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Procurement Assistant to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement team in purchasing materials, supplies, and services to ensure the smooth operations of our manufacturing processes. As a Junior Procurement Assistant, you will play a crucial role in negotiating with vendors, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating delivery schedules to meet production requirements. Responsibilities: Assist in identifying suppliers, sourcing materials, and obtaining quotes for procurement needs. Review and compare supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards are met. Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and maintain supplier relationships. Place purchase orders and track delivery schedules to ensure timely arrival of materials. Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and receipts. Monitor inventory levels and provide timely updates to the procurement team. Assist in resolving any procurement-related issues or discrepancies. Support in implementing cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within the procurement department. Understanding of supply chain management principles and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing procurement activities. Problem-solving skills to resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process. Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues from different departments. Proactive attitude to identify cost-saving opportunities and streamline procurement processes. Responsibilities and Duties: Assist in sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating prices for raw materials and supplies. Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely receipt of goods. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and supplier information. Conduct market research to stay informed about new products, suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities. Collaborate with the production team to ensure adequate inventory levels and timely supply of materials. Monitor supplier performance and address any quality or delivery issues in a timely manner. Assist senior procurement staff in evaluating supplier proposals, analyzing bids, and selecting vendors. Participate in inventory management and cycle counting activities to optimize stock levels. Follow company policies and procedures related to procurement and adhere to ethical standards at all times. Provide support to the procurement team as needed and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
