Job Description

A leading international organization is looking for a Life Actuary – Reporting to join their actuarial reporting team. The role includes endtoend IFRS 9 & IFRS 17 reporting, assumption reviews, and model development.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce actuarial reporting under IFRS 9 & IFRS 17
Conduct assumption setting and actuarial calculations
Build and maintain valuation and reserving models
Support reserving, valuations, and regulatory submissions
Collaborate with international teams on methodology and standards
Provide actuarial insights and commentary to senior stakeholders

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
Honours degree in Actuarial Science (or equivalent NQF 8) strongly preferred
Nearly qualified actuary with 7–8 completed actuarial exams (ASSA/IFoA/SOA)
Strong academic grounding in actuarial modelling, financial mathematics, and statistical methods

Experience:

4+ years actuarial experience in life reporting, valuation, or reserving
Exposure to IFRS 9 & IFRS 17
International experience beneficial

Technical Skills:

Strong modelling ability (R, Python, Prophet, SQL, Excel/VBA)
Understanding of actuarial methodologies and reserving frameworks

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical capability and problemsolving skills
Able to communicate complex concepts clearly
Comfortable working under pressure and within tight deadlines
