Job Opportunity: Planning and Compliance Specialist (Contract until January 2026) Contract Duration: As soon as possible until January 2026 Client: A Leading Global Mining Company Are you a driven financial planning and compliance professional with experience in governance, finance, ERP systems, and stakeholder engagement? Our client, a world-renowned mining company committed to the responsible production of future-enabling products such as copper, premium iron ore, and crop nutrients, is seeking a Planning and Compliance Specialist to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. Role Overview This role is instrumental in supporting the Information Management (IM) Planning and Compliance Manager by driving financial governance, compliance, demand planning, and reporting processes. You will oversee budget planning, manage financial controls, streamline expenditure reporting, and ensure enterprise-wide compliance with financial standards across systems and operations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage regional IM budget planning and compliance activities. Oversee finance expenditure, reporting cycles, and ERP configuration (SAP). Maintain and monitor capital and operational expenditure governance. Drive cost control initiatives and provide financial insights to IM leadership. Prepare, review, and align forecasts with BU Finance and Global IM. Reconcile resources and recoveries; track timesheets, invoices, and journals. Coordinate annual budgets, reviews, approvals, and system uploads. Ensure Vendor and Supply Chain compliance (contract governance, Ariba, SLAs). Maintain accurate financial documentation, registers, and reporting controls. Serve as a liaison for IM governance, audits, integration, and stakeholder engagement. Support the implementation of demand management and change communications. Lead internal control and compliance processes, including ICFR attestation. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant Information Management discipline. Postgraduate qualification or equivalent practical experience is advantageous. Proven experience in financial planning, compliance, and ERP (SAP preferred). Strong stakeholder engagement, change management, and communication skills. Experience in a multi-national environment, ideally in mining or a similar sector. Skills & Attributes Strong analytical, budgeting, and reporting capabilities. Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills. Comfortable working across time zones and in hybrid environments. Commitment to safety, governance, and continuous improvement. Job Summary

An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in the relevant Financial Accounting discipline and/or relevant IM Discipline. A postgraduate qualification in the related IM discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity. Lead a team of people who deliver and support Regional IM budgets for: Global IM and Regional Support ACCSA Cost Centres Drive and implement rigorous cost management processes and procedures. Manage finance expenditure and reporting including month/quarter and year end. Develop an understanding (at configuration level) of the functionality embedded in Anglo ERP applications. Develop a good understanding of the ERP landscape and the solutions used to support the Company’s processes. Manage Capital and Opex Governance by: Reviewing and checking monthly financial reports to IM Managers. Assist with reconciliations and reviews thereof. Provide overall project financial support to all our project managers. Assist with PO creation for Projects. Assisting with documentation of Single Source Motivations. Streamline processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency of financial reporting and budgeting. Review the Actuals on SAP compared to the Budget and provide recommendations to all the IM Managers Review notes for all Purchase Requisitions (PRs) exceeding R1,500,000.00 before submission to Band 4. Preparing Forecasting: Review and update with line management and HoDs Communicate and align with BU Finance teams Submit Forecasts to Global IM and ensure it is accurately recorded in SAP. Reconcile Resource and Recoveries: Obtain supporting documents for all monthly recharges and ensure that they are within budget Track and verify time sheets against invoices for all project resources. Co-ordinate the budget preparation, validation, approvals, uploads and presentations. Ensure timely monthly approval of all Team Confirmation of Service (CoS) documents. Finance and Supply Chain Governance. Develop and deploy consistent practices of Contractor and Contract Management for all vendors across the various. operations to improve the quality, cost and raise the service level of performance across the region. Oversee and drive principles to endure governance and compliance. Manage IM procurement Support and lead IM document management. Manage and own IM Demand, Reporting and Integration.
