RedCat Recruitment is seeking a qualified and experienced POWER GENERATION SPECIALIST for a well-established, growing concern, position based in the Sandton area, Johannesburg . REQUIREMENTS Grade 12. Degree in Electrical Power or Mechanical Engineering. Valid drivers license / own reliable vehicle. Person must be able to speak, read and write in English. Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). 10yrs relevant experience in gas or coal fired power generation is ESSENTIAL Strong understanding of electricity transmission. Familiarity with renewable power energy generation. Conduct studies on power generation systems and optimisation thereof and be familiar with relevant software tools. Identification and assessment power generation projects such as solar, waste to energy, gas and coal. Lead the preparation of recommendations related to selection, design, operation and control for power generation systems. Oversee the design and construction of identified power projects. Identify the technical assistance needs and development of prioritised technical assistance for power generation facilities. Point of reference for expert advice relating to power/energy generation, technology, regulations and best practice.
