About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a skilled Inventory Accountant to join their team in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain a cycle count plan that covers all inventory stored within the plant and at suppliers
- Generate and distribute inventory cycle counts for the plant
- Capture and randomly audit returned counts and follow up on unreturned stock
- Perform count analysis and report on discrepancies
- Report on cycle count completeness for all areas
- Compile count completeness, variance, and inventory reports
- Pro-actively communicate all inventory risk to Management
- Assist with and plan bi-annual stock counts
- Coordinate all internal and external count audit-related activities
- Coordinate all procedure verification-related activities with external auditors
- Complete stock reconciliation reports and reconcile with SC and Finance
- Ensure the plant maintains accurate inventory levels by highlighting expired stock and ensuring correct warehouse allocations
- Obtain authorization and execute inventory adjustments with provision
- Assist the Production Accountant in the process of writing-off of inventory deemed not suitable for use
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve work objectives
- Generate transit and Expiry reports for Warehouse and MC
Requirements
- Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain/BCom Finance/Accounting
- At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Computer literate proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and a fully integrated computer system e.g. Baan, SAP, BPCS, etc.
- Previous stock inventory knowledge and experience
- Excellent Planning and analytical skills
- Detailed logical thinking & investigative skills
- Consistent application of operational priorities
