About the Role
The Johannesburg-based Retail Key Account Manager will play a pivotal role in driving strategic retail partnerships, shaping supply chain performance at scale, and delivering measurable impact across a national retail network. Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage strong relationships with retail supply chain, logistics, buying, and store operations teams
- Act as the primary point of contact for all supply chain and distribution-related matters
- Conduct regular client reviews and present performance against KPIs and service level agreements
- Analyse service delivery data and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support network optimisation and identify long-term supply chain opportunities
- Lead and contribute to joint optimisation projects with retail partners
- Ensure alignment of master data between internal systems and customer platforms
- Resolve operational issues through coordination with internal control tower and service teams
- Identify opportunities to expand product range participation and drive volume growth
Requirements
- BCom in Logistics or Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering degree (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in customer or account management within supply chain, logistics, or distribution
- At least 3 years’ experience in an FMCG environment
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in costing and business development
- Proven ability to manage complex client relationships
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Valid Code EB driver’s license
