About the Role
Old Parks Sports Club is one of the oldest and renowned sports clubs in Johannesburg, providing a sports and social environment for over 1000 members and visitors. We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Senior Bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Full bookkeeping functions including Debtors and Creditors, multiple Cashbooks, Inter Company Accounts, Accruals and Pre-Payments.
- Month-End Reporting.
- Sport Sections Financial Management.
- Attendance at Sports Sections Meetings.
- Membership Subscription Management.
- Debt Collection.
- Payroll Management including overtime, leave, deductions and pension fund management
- Budgets, Forecasting and Trend Assessments.
- Daily POS Reconciliation and Financial Control.
- Year-End preparation and liaising with the Club’s Auditor.
- Preparing Statutory Returns.
- Management of control accounts, including but not limited to bar stock.
- Regular communication with various sports sections and management of any financial queries.
- Liaise and prepare reports for the Club Director and Government Departments as required.
- Attend selected Management Meetings and all Club and Section AGMs.
- General admin and filing.
Requirements
- Relevant certification or diploma in Accounting.
- Min 5 years bookkeeping experience and preferably in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Pastel Partner, Pastel Payroll and Sage Online.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
