About the Role

The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer position at Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd is a critical role that requires expertise in maintaining the safety and security of our organization’s systems and network. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our network and security infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, Install, configure, and support network and security equipment from leading vendors.
Create and oversee security measures such as access authentication and privilege matrix.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
Implement proactive monitoring and maintenance practices to prevent downtime and minimize disruptions to business operations.
Conduct regular assessments and audits of network infrastructure components, identifying and addressing any issues or vulnerabilities.
Document network setup, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to protect our organization’s infrastructure assets and data.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to infrastructure security and data privacy.

Requirements

Experience in industry-leading products such as Cisco, Palo Alto, FortiGate, Meraki, Aruba, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent etc.
Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP).
Solid background in network and network security administration and architecture.
In-depth understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols.
Familiarity with access control models and network security.
