About the Role
The Shift Supervisor position is a permanent role that requires a strong leader to oversee daily operations on the shop floor. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our manufacturing processes and maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Controlling and management of all shop floor activities
- Planning, monitoring, and controlling all productivity of the day
- Ensuring that all equipment is kept in the best possible condition to avoid affecting quality
- Ensuring minimal waste is accrued during production
- Maintaining housekeeping and health and safety standards
- Compiling daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Completing various administrative documentation as required by the division
- Managing, mentoring, and continued coaching of staff
- Maintaining discipline in adherence to company policies and procedures
- Planning, controlling, and organizing daily activities
- Deploying staff as required by production
- Assessing stock, plate, and ink for production
- Executing preventative maintenance plans
- Setting and running machines when necessary
Requirements
- Matric/N3 educational qualification with a minimum of 5 years in a similar environment
- Diploma in Engineering or Operations Management or a Business-related qualification (Bag Making or Flexo Graphic)
- Recognized apprenticeship (advantageous)
