About the Role

The Occupational Health and Safety Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership of Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHERQ) management across the Group/nationally. The role ensures full compliance with applicable legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, and drives a proactive safety culture aligned with ISO standards and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide strategic and operational leadership of Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHERQ) management across the Group/nationally.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
• Drive a proactive safety culture aligned with ISO standards and best practice.
• Accountable for risk mitigation, compliance oversight, national OHS governance, and audit performance.

Requirements

• Health and Safety related degree
• Post grad qualification in Fleet Management or similar advantageous
• 8 years’ experience in occupational health and safety management
• 3 years’ management experience
• Proven ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels
• Safety Management Training Course (SAMTRAC) Certified
• Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality (SHERQ) Certified
• ISO 9001 and 14001 Certified
• Code 08 Driver’s Licence
