Johannesburg: Solar Electrical Engineer Project Manager posted by Hire Resolve

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Electrical Engineer Project Manager to join our Clients team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing solar energy projects from design to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. This individual will have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in the field of solar energy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple company projects. Organise the project team to perform work and delegate team members to project tasks.
• Manage project deliverables, ensure that projects are delivered on time, set up regular meetings with clients and with direct manager and report back on project performance.
• Develop analytical tools and reports to manage and improve project performance.
• Maintain and develop internal relationships with all relevant project stakeholders.
• Source and maintain relationships with external service providers and industry information custodians.
• Represent the company on industry bodies, committees, and associations to ensure that interests are represented.
• Keep abreast with local and global industry trends and design project to comply with the related municipalities
• Prepare method statements and hand over files
• Prepare O&M schedules and arrange appointments and equipment for O&M
• Generate monthly O&M reports and plan of action if necessary
• Ensure projects are aligned with the Framework for Infrastructure Delivery and Procurement Management.
• Manage sub-contractors and suppliers
• Develop terms of reference for identified projects.
• Report weekly to Operation Manager on all projects

Requirements: 

• BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering/BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering
  4-8 years of working experience working with renewable energy industry, preferably in Solar PV.
  Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong facilitation skills.
  Self-driven with high motivation for achievement.
  Ability to influence, develop, and maintain strong relationships.
  Well organised and great attention to detail.
  Ability to price projects and manage cash flow
  Knowledge of South African Engineering standards.
  Should be familiar with and understand the OHS Act.
  Be able to design solar PV plants using Helioscope or similar PV design systems and produce
  detailed designs with BoQ using AUTO CAD or similar to produce GAs and SLDs.
  Ability to develop and manage project budgets.
  Strong leadership skills.
  Must have own vehicle and drivers license.
  Willing to travel and work outside normal hours
  Willing to be away from home for extended periods of time for projects.
  Excellent customer service skills.
  Strong presentation skills.
  Relevant registration certificate as Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
