Job Description
As the Development Engineer – Hardware, you will be responsible for designing, enhancing, and supporting electronic products throughout their full lifecycle. This includes circuit and system design, prototyping, testing, industrialisation, and post-deployment support. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and production teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions that meet strict safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electronic circuits and systems based on detailed technical specifications
- Build, test, and validate prototypes to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability
- Ensure that designs perform reliably in real-world operating environments
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and production teams to enable efficient manufacturing
- Develop production-ready designs aligned to DFM and DFT principles
- Support EMC, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the design process
- Contribute to test equipment design, validation processes, and technical documentation
- Provide post-deployment technical support and resolve field-related issues
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Education:
- BEng (Electronics) / BSc Engineering (Electronics) or equivalent qualification
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electronic product development
- Proven experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Strong exposure to embedded systems design and programming
- Experience in industrialisation and full product lifecycle development
- Skills:
- Strong hardware–software integration knowledge
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
- PCB design experience (Altium Designer highly advantageous)
- Working knowledge of microcontrollers, FPGAs, DSP, and embedded platforms
- Familiarity with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and ethernet)
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools (LTSpice, PSpice, and MATLAB)
- Strong understanding of DFM, DFT, EMC/EMI compliance, and industry standards
- Exposure to RF design principles, antenna integration, and RF layout (advantageous)
- Comfortable using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and spectrum analysers
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git and SVN)
