Job Summary
Key responsibilities will include: Deal Making and Evaluation Identify and facilitate investment opportunities Evaluate, structure, and price deals Collaborate with other business units within the organisation Negotiate deal terms and conditions and ensure quality deals with lower impairments and improved collections Business Development and Stakeholder Management Develop / implement business development strategies and cultivate extensive networks to enhance reputation Develop customer relationship strategies and lead engagements / road shows to promote products and services Generate new business according to targets Operational Strategy and Policy Development Produce the Fund`s annual Business Plan Manage and report progress against KPAs and KPIs Review and implement operational manuals and procedures Develop and maintain financial models for transaction appraisals Align cross-functional policies and procedures Portfolio Management Lead the growth of the investment portfolio and manage the portfolio`s quality and due diligence Oversee project management of investment teams and ensure appropriate transaction structuring Provide mentorship and support in complex negotiations and influence investment decisions at various committee levels People and General Management Set performance standards and manage subordinate performance Apply performance management processes Demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills CRITERIA / REQUIREMENTS Engineering Degree / BCom Degree essential with an MBA / CA (SA) or relevant Masters degree being preferred (Combination of qualifications is advantageous) Minimum 8 years in a deal-making environment, with 5 years in people management Strong credit and risk analysis skills Experience in leading and closing BEE or private equity transactions Technical and industry knowledge of BEE financing and corporate finance Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills Well-developed business networks within the BEE investment community and SA financial markets Proven ability to generate deal flow
