About the Role
Africonology is seeking a highly skilled Test Lead & Analyst to join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The successful candidate will lead testing activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions within the banking and finance sector.
Key Responsibilities
- SIT|UAT /Regression planning and execution
- Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate the activities of the testing team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of test cycles.
- Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and security.
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate defect management tools, ensuring timely resolution and re-testing.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and alignment with business objectives.
- Report on test progress, metrics, risks, and issues to project leadership and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices throughout the testing process.
- Support user acceptance testing by preparing test data, coordinating test execution, and providing guidance to end-users.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies and processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- Relevant professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in test leadership and analysis within the banking and finance sector.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle and testing methodologies.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for a range of audiences.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field is essential. Professional certification in software testing (such as ISTQB or equivalent) is highly desirable.
