About the Role
The Unit Manager AICU – Rustenburg will be responsible for planning, monitoring, coordinating and overseeing the unit’s operations and processes to ensure quality patient care. The successful candidate will manage ward clerks, RN, EN, and ENAs roles and responsibilities, as well as mentoring, coaching, training, and development of nursing staff. They will also manage the unit budget, ensuring cost savings and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ward rounds to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safe patient environment, policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
- Inform and educate patients about the Group’s complaints procedure and The Voice patient experience platform.
- Implement, monitor, and control service delivery processes according to quality standards, policy, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Ensure alignment and implementation of end-to-end standard operating procedures/processes in line with hospital policies.
- Build professional long-term relationships with internal stakeholders (Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Administrators).
- Work with internal key leaders to build an escalation chain for internal crises (patient care and unit ops-related).
- Implement people resource planning in line with delivery and performance objectives.
Requirements
- Conduct ward rounds to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safe patient environment, policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
- Inform and educate patients about the Group’s complaints procedure and The Voice patient experience platform.
- 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience in a private hospital environment.
- Experience within a Critical Care Nursing setting.
Qualifications
- BLS Nursing Administration or relevant qualification
- Current registration as Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council
