About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join our team in Johannesburg, based at our West Rand warehouse. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and support to our warehouse staff, ensuring that we meet our operational and customer demands while maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team to meet operational and customer demand.
- Train, mentor, and guide warehouse staff within area of responsibility.
- Assist Management to ensure inventory accuracy and correct stock movement recording.
- Maintain accuracy and functionality of warehouse systems and equipment including scanners, printers and scales.
- Identify operational or system improvements and recommend solutions.
- Resolve issues within authority and escalate when necessary.
- Produce operational reports and productivity statistics as required on consumables, lunch breaks, overpicks, time and attendance.
- Review ways to reduce waste, idle time, and inefficiencies.
- Ensure machinery and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure staff compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure working environment.
- Support time, attendance, and people management processes.
- Communicate targets, priorities, and expectations to staff.
- Monitor performance and report progress to management.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport partners.
- Participate in stock takes, meetings, and training sessions.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) – Essential.
- Proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a warehouse environment.
- Experience working late shift or shift hours.
- Minimum of 2 years general warehouse experience.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SAP, Qwix, or similar).
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
