About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg West. As a key member of our design team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing advanced power conversion systems, from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC power converters
- Perform simulations using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or LTspice
- Select components (IGBTs, MOSFETs, magnetics, capacitors, drivers)
- Conduct thermal analysis and efficiency optimization
- Develop control strategies (PWM, digital control, feedback loops)
- Prototype, test, and validate hardware designs
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and field issues
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in power electronics design
- Strong understanding of switching converters and control theory
- Experience with high-voltage and high-power systems
- Proficiency in simulation and PCB design tools
- Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and thermal testing
