About the Role
We are seeking a suitably qualified Technician to join our Technical – Engineering department based in Kempton Park. This position reports directly to the Engineering Supervisor. Candidates who meet the specified requirements are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the efficient operation of the ESD maintenance and projects department across the KZN Region, aligning with corporate policies and legal standards.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship for all on-site installations and maintenance tasks, including those undertaken by contractors.
- Maintain the highest safety standards by strictly adhering to EHS&Q protocols to minimise risks to personnel and property.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on maintenance activities, project progress, and safety matters.
- Support the implementation and management of safety protocols and departmental systems to guarantee compliance and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Matric certificate with Mathematics and Science.
- Completion of NTC 2 – 4 qualification or equivalent certification.
- Trade-Tested Artisan status, preferably as a Fitter or Millwright.
- SAQCC installer certification is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance within a heavy engineering or production environment, preferably in the Gas or related industry.
- Familiarity with ISO and SHERQ systems.
- Proven experience liaising with customers, suppliers and supervising contractors at various levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly the MS Office Suite.
- Valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
