About the Role
The Sales Consultant plays a key role in driving revenue by identifying customer requirements and recommending appropriate products or services offered by our client. The position focuses on developing and maintaining strong client relationships, demonstrating sound product knowledge, generating and nurturing leads, negotiating agreements, and successfully closing sales. The Sales Consultant is expected to consistently meet or exceed sales targets while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with both prospective and existing customers to understand their needs, expectations, and challenges.
- Provide clear and accurate information regarding the products or services available through our client.
- Respond to customer queries, concerns, and objections in a professional and solution-focused manner.
- Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services.
- Conduct persuasive and customised presentations that highlight the benefits and value of the offerings.
- Keep informed about developments in the industry as well as competitor activities.
- Communicate key features, benefits, and differentiators to potential customers effectively.
- Promote the company’s services by clearly communicating their value and advantages to clients.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals detailing solutions, pricing structures, and contractual terms.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and prospecting through to closing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records within the relevant systems.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure proposals align with client requirements.
- Engage in negotiations with clients to reach agreements that benefit both the client and our client.
- Address objections and secure client commitment in order to finalise sales.
- Focus on achieving and surpassing set sales targets by successfully acquiring new business.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity.
- Share insights and feedback gathered from customer interactions.
- Use market information to refine sales strategies and remain competitive.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any concerns.
- Work with colleagues across departments to enhance the overall customer experience and service delivery.
- Remain up to date with new sales methods, industry best practices, and product or service developments.
Requirements
- Matric certificate.
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related field (advantageous).
- Sales or Marketing Diploma (advantageous).
- Certificate, diploma, or relevant experience in Finance, Insurance, or Sales.
- Registered Debt Counsellor qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales environment.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to clearly explain financial concepts and solutions to clients.
- Strong ability to build trust and rapport with customers.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and prioritise workload.
- Computer literacy, including working with presentations, documents, and spreadsheets.
- Strong presentation and telephone etiquette skills.
- Experience with computer modelling or forecasting will be beneficial.
Salary & Benefits
R8500 plus commission
