About the Role
We are seeking experienced Process Technicians with strong Flexographic (Flexo) printing experience to support and optimize high-speed serviette manufacturing lines. The primary purpose of the role is process development, standardization, and capability building, rather than routine machine operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operating centrelines for Flexo printing and converting processes.
- Optimize process parameters to ensure consistent print quality, colour registration, ink performance, and production efficiency.
- Monitor process capability and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and waste reduction.
- Provide technical support on Flexographic printing processes, including ink systems, plates, anilox rollers, substrates, and drying.
- Support colour consistency, registration accuracy, and print quality on tissue and serviette substrates.
- Troubleshoot complex Flexo printing issues such as colour variation, ink build-up, plate wear, web instability, and print defects.
- Equip production teams to perform simple and routine machine setups independently.
- Lead and assist with complex setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct structured root-cause analysis for recurring quality or downtime issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical standards.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Trade-related qualification in Printing, Graphic Arts, Flexographic Printing, or Industrial Printing.
- Proven experience in Flexographic (Flexo) printing is essential.
- Demonstrated experience as a Process Technician, Senior Printer, or Technical Specialist in a manufacturing environment.
