About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Farm Manager to join our team in Levubu, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our avocado and macadamia farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for agriculture and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Farm Manager with the day-to-day operations of the farm
- Supervise field staff and seasonal workers
- Monitor the health and development of avocado or macadamia orchards
- Oversee irrigation, fertilization, and pest control programs
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities and production
- Ensure adherence to agricultural and safety regulations
- Coordinate harvest activities and post-harvest handling
- Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives
Requirements
- Relevant agricultural qualification (advantageous)
- 23 years experience in avocado or macadamia or banana farming
- Strong understanding of orchard management practices
- Good communication and people management skills
- Willingness to work hands-on and lead by example
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English
