About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Dairy Farm Manager to join our team in Lydenburg, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a dairy farm and ensuring its continued success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily farm activities, including milking, feeding, and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure
- Monitor and control costs, including feed, labor, and supplies
- Implement and maintain pasture management plans to optimize crop yields and animal health
- Work closely with farmers and suppliers to negotiate contracts and manage logistics
- Maintain accurate records of farm operations, including financial reports and inventory management
Requirements
- Agricultural Diploma or Degree highly advantageous
- Minimum 5 years dairy farm management experience
- Cropping experience with maize and soya
- Previous pasture management experience
- Computer literate
- Great stockmanship
- Strong record of management skills
- Hard-working, deadline-driven, diligent
- Maintenance orientated
