About the Role
Our client Middelburg is seeking a driven, highenergy, and targetoriented Sales Manager to lead our New & Used Vehicle Sales division.
This key leadership role is responsible for driving vehicle sales performance, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, developing a highperforming sales team, and supporting the dealership in increasing market share within the Middelburg area.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and manage the New & Used Vehicle Sales team to achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Oversee prospecting, lead generation, customer followups, test drives, and deal closure.
- Set performance KPIs and hold the team accountable to Ford dealership standards.
Sales Process Control & Compliance
- Ensure all sales processes meet Ford South Africa and F&I compliance requirements.
- Review deal files, verify documentation accuracy, and ensure all CRM systems are correctly utilised.
- Work closely with F&I Managers to support strong deal structuring and profitability.
Customer Experience & Retention
- Guarantee exceptional service across the entire sales journey.
- Resolve customer escalations professionally and promptly.
- Implement retention strategies to drive repeat business, referrals, and customer loyalty.
Stock, Marketing & Showroom Management
- Manage stock levels in partnership with the Dealer Principal and Stock Controller.
- Ensure the new and used showroom floor is professionally merchandised and visually appealing.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to boost digital leads, campaigns, and online brand presence.
Reporting & Sales Analytics
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales performance reports.
- Analyse competitor trends and emerging market data to adjust the sales strategy.
- Track team pipeline performance and allocate resources to maximise conversions.
Requirements
Key Requirements
- 35 years Automotive Sales Management experience within a franchised dealership.
- Proven track record of achieving vehicle sales targets and strong KPI performance.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and teammotivation skills.
- Thorough understanding of dealership sales processes, CRM systems, and F&I compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customerrelationship skills.
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential); a Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Business qualification is advantageous.
- Valid South African drivers licence.
- Knowledge of dealership DMS systems (Automate, Kerridge, CDK, Evolve, etc.).
- Highenergy, targetdriven, and competitive mindset, able to work under pressure.
