About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our workshop in Middelburg, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, supervise, and manage workshop and wash bay staff
- Allocate duties, monitor productivity, and maintain high workmanship standards
- Process and manage work orders, job cards, and maintenance schedules
- Ensure all repairs and preventative maintenance meet quality and safety standards
- Enforce Health & Safety policies and maintain a hazard-free work environment
- Inspect, maintain, and ensure proper functioning of workshop equipment and machinery
- Order workshop supplies and manage inventory control
- Operate workshop machinery when required
- Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and operational readiness of workshop and wash bay facilities
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- Qualified Mechanic (or in the process of completing qualification)
- Minimum 2 years workshop experience within the transport/logistics industry
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience working on taut liner and side tipper trailers
