Job Summary
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Prioritize work schedules for overhauling, maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds.
- Direct and supervise mechanical technicians to ensure high-quality, safe work execution.
- Conduct regular quality checks and coaching sessions for technicians.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace by implementing 5S principles.
- Manage and report workplace incidents and safety breaches.
- Review and approve quotes for materials and supplies.
- Scope and estimate costs and timeframes for maintenance and overhauling tasks.
- Review completed work to ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.
- Follow up and close work orders in SAP.
Education:
- Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience, or Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a smelter plant or similar heavy industry.
- Pump and Hydraulic overhauling experience critical.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive mechanical engineering knowledge and hands-on experience with pumps, conveyors, compressors, and other equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis (RCFA) skills.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, and machining processes.
- Experience in assembly, disassembly, installation, and dismantling of equipment.
- Proficiency in supervising overhauling maintenance, material handling, and tool management.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders.
- Strong safety compliance record, including knowledge of work permits for hot work and confined spaces.
- Familiarity with mechanical codes, standards, and safety protocols.
- Ability to lead and develop team capability while ensuring high performance.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and risk management skills.
- Budget and resource management expertise.
