Job Description
Hire Resolve’s Client in the Property & Real Estate industry is looking for a Health & Safety Officer to ensure legal compliance to OHS Act and applicable regulations bu assisting, giving advise, and enforcing HSE issues related to the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace to identify potential hazards and risks
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and federal regulations
- Provide training and education to employees on health and safety protocols and procedures
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness
- Monitor and analyze health and safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and accountability
- Stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation and best practices and make recommendations for updates to policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as occupational health and safety, environmental health, or a related discipline
- Certified Health & Safety Professional (CHSP) designation or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and EPA requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence positive change
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
