Job Description
As the Project Accountant, your duties and responsibilities include the following:
Oversee the full financial project cycle with multiple events, from project setup to final close-off
Load, verify and maintain accurate project budgets, ensuring all cost elements are accounted for
Ensure timeous and accurate invoicing of clients, including contract and ad-hoc billing
Monitor project performance through Actual vs Forecast reporting, highlighting variances proactively
Manage open projects, PO tracking and revenue recognition, ensuring projects remain self-funding
Drive the closure of aged or overdue projects by investigating discrepancies and escalating where required
Maintain organised electronic record-keeping, including budgets, PO’s, invoices, and event correspondence
Support effective debtors management
Collaborate closely with operational teams to ensure finance policies and procedures are upheld across all events
Prepare and update monthly project management and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and deadline compliance
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a finance or project accounting role
Proven experience in budgeting, invoicing, reconciliations, and revenue recognition
Strong background in record-keeping and maintaining organized, accurate financial documentation
Qualification:
Completed BCom degree
SAIPA/SAICA articles
