Hire Resolves client, a wastewater treatment company is looking for a Wastewater process technologist/ engineer to lead their wastewater treatment team. The role involves analysis of the influent water, effluent water and various treatment processes.
Location: Midrand, GP
Responsibilities:- Proven track record in water reuse (potable and non-potable).
- Leading or supporting water and wastewater treatment projects from concept to commissioning.
- Process engineering design development based on design guidelines and good engineering practice, providing cost-effective solutions whilst ensuring technical compliance with client requirements.
- Develop design reports, operating philosophies, produce process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and specifications.
- Stay abreast of national and international standards, policies, and best practices related to water reuse
- Technical presentations to potential or existing clients
- Conducting plant process audits and provide process expertise for troubleshooting and operations optimisation on treatment plants.
- Preparing process designs and technical proposals for engineering studies and industrial tenders.
- Monitor installed treatment plant performance and ensure adherence to specifications and quality
- Keep up to date with latest technologies, design tools & guidelines and developments in the water treatment field and from local / international suppliers
- Writing of technical reports & compilation of O & M Manual
- Understand ISO 3050: 2018 and DWS (General and Special Limit) requirements
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, consultants and contractors on technical and commercial aspects.
- Evaluate and design advanced treatment technologies for reuse, including filtration, UV disinfection and ozonation.
- Conducting feasibility assessments and process evaluations for treatment systems
Key Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant post-graduate experience in wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure.
- Strong technical knowledge of process design, civil works, and municipal service (including requirements)
- Influent water, effluent water and various treatment processes experience and knowledge.
- Knowledge of applicable South African design standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Expertise in treatment technologies such as MBR, BNR, activated sludge.
- Competent in AutoCAD, Civil Designer, Civil3D (process simulation a plus).
Qualifications
- BEng / BSc / BTech in Chemical, Civil or Process Engineering (with a focus on wastewater).
- Professional registration or registration-in-progress with ECSA is advantageous.
