About the Role
The Banqueting Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring seamless event execution, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming guests and understanding event needs
- Conducting site inspections to ensure optimal setup
- Preparing function sheets and coordinating room layouts
- Ensuring AV/multimedia equipment is set up correctly
- Leading waitrons, bartenders, and casual staff to deliver 5-star service standards
- Managing booking systems and monitoring budgets
- Processing billing documentation and ensuring compliance with food and beverage safety standards
- Maintaining accurate records and compiling management reports
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- At least 14 years in banquet, events, or Food & Beverage (F&B) operations within the hospitality industry
- Proficiency in MS Office and Apex
- Strong administrative and numeracy skills
- Excellent customer relations and communication skills
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Pleasant disposition
- Able to communicate with managers on all levels
