Are you a commercially astute Cost Accountant with strong business intelligence and data analytics capability, looking to make a meaningful impact within a large FMCG manufacturing environment?
A well-established and reputable FMCG / Food & Beverage organisation is seeking a Cost Accountant & BI Analyst to support operational performance, product costing accuracy, and data-driven decision-making across multiple manufacturing sites in the Western Cape.
This hybrid role combines cost accounting, inventory and margin analysis, and business intelligence reporting, offering exposure to both finance leadership and operational stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance

Implement and maintain standard costing for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

Perform full absorption costing and maintain cost recovery rates.

Prepare product costings, margin analysis, and NPD support.

Manage inventory valuation, accuracy, and reporting.

Maintain BOM structures and monitor waste and yield variances.

Prepare manufacturing cost reports and support month-end close.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX-related costing.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Business Intelligence & Data Analytics

Design, develop, and maintain BI dashboards and reports.

Build and manage data models and ETL processes from multiple sources.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements.

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance across BI platforms.

Optimise BI solutions for performance and scalability.

Provide BI support and reporting insights to finance and operational teams.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification:
-
Bachelors degree in Cost & Management Accounting, Financial Management, Data Analytics, or related field

CIMA qualification (or working towards) advantageous
Experience:
-
35 years experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing or FMCG environment

Minimum 2 years experience in business intelligence or data analytics
Skills & Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Advanced Excel proficiency
-
ERP systems experience (manufacturing environment advantageous)

BI tools experience (Qlik Sense and/or Power BI advantageous)

Knowledge of data integration, governance, and reporting best practices

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
