About the Role
As a Head Guide at Wild Dreams Hospitality’s private game reserve in Mpumalanga, you will be responsible for leading high-end guided experiences amidst breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife. You will work closely with our team to deliver exceptional guest service, share your knowledge of ecology and conservation, and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead bush walks, game drives, and specialist experiences for international clients
- Provide engaging and informative commentary on the reserve’s flora, fauna, and geological features
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement unique guest experiences
- Maintain high standards of guest safety, vehicle maintenance, and equipment care
- Develop and deliver training programs for junior guides and staff
Requirements
- FGASA Level 2 or higher (or equivalent guiding qualification)
- ARH and valid PDP
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Minimum 5 years guiding experience, ideally in Big 5 territory
- Trackers and trailing skills highly valued (Trailing Level 2 or higher preferred)
- Strong hosting and guest engagement skills, especially with international clientele
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role. However, a degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, biology, or ecology) may be advantageous.
