About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Product Developer to join our team at Cape Herb & Spice in Muizenberg. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining specifications for our tea and spice products, conducting factory trials, and liaising with suppliers. If you have a passion for food and a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation and/or updating and maintenance of raw material, packaging, in-process and finished product specifications
- Conducting factory trials, travel tests, and 1st productions on new lines
- Liaising with suppliers on Cape Herb & Spice requirements
- Creating, coordinating, and maintaining new sample requirements
- Providing technical support to other departments (QA, Operations, and Sales)
- Assisting in the meticulous execution of the Development Process by following procedures
- Assisting with supplier presentations and meeting minutes
- Ensuring product detail is accurate on internal systems, in departments, and on shared drives
- Supporting the execution of shelf-life testing as set out in the shelf-life schedule
- Executing technical projects
- Executing the Supplier Quality Assurance process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Consumer Science
