About the Role
Our client, a 4-star hotel in Johannesburg, is seeking a dynamic young Food & Beverage Manager with proven experience across multiple outlets. They are looking for a candidate who can bring fresh energy, operational insight, and the ability to oversee diverse F&B operations, ideally from an Assistant F & B Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the profitable running and full turnkey management of the Food & Beverage department in the areas of the Main Hotel, including but not limited to:
- Restaurant
- Courtyard
- Room Service
- Bar areas
- Other facilities
- Adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures
- Continually train all employees according to the Company’s training and development goals
- Enforce reward and recognition programs
- Maintain and improve hotel service standards
- Ensure the department stays within its set Cost of Sales (Beverage) and budgetary expenses (O.E and Labour)
- Implement new strategies and promotional plans to increase turnover, guest spend, and overall guest dining experience
Requirements
- National Certificate (Matric) and a NQF level 6 (Diploma in Hotel Management) or higher
- At least 3 -5 years’ experience within a similar position in 4 or 5* hotels
- Computer Literacy in F&B systems, Fidelio / OPERA and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Well-groomed appearance
- Self-starter with initiative and integrity
- Ability to listen, report, and communicate effectively
- Demonstrated controls and logical approach to problem solving
- Accuracy and numeracy skills
- Ability to handle conflict situations and manage under pressure
- Own transport and driver’s license
