About the Role
Join a leading healthcare provider in Papua New Guinea as a Registrar ICU/ER, providing advanced clinical care to critically ill and emergency patients across PIH’s Intensive Care Units, Emergency Department, and satellite clinics. This dynamic role is ideal for an experienced medical professional seeking to advance their career in acute and critical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical assessments, diagnosis, and management for ICU and Emergency cases.
- Serve as the primary care provider for ICU-admitted patients, coordinating with consultants as required.
- Perform critical care procedures including vascular access, intubation, ventilatory support, and other specialized interventions.
- Participate in consultant-led rounds and ensure accurate, timely documentation in EMR systems.
- Manage outpatient clinics related to general medicine, follow-ups, occupational health, and fitness-to-work assessments.
- Provide telemedicine support to satellite facilities and off-site projects.
- Assist in developing and implementing risk management policies, clinical protocols, and quality initiatives.
- Participate in CME activities, staff training, and clinical teaching sessions.
- Undertake after-hours and weekend duties for urgent or emergent cases.
- Represent the client at health expos, seminars, and community health events.
Requirements
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) degree is mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of postgraduate clinical experience.
- Strong experience in acute care, ICU, ER, and critical care procedures.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Qualifications
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) degree from a recognized institution.
