Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Regular liaison with Clients, Architects, Engineers and other team members
- Information re parameters related to new project (gathering data)
- Marketing of K&Ts range of services related to current project / future projects
- Communication with Section Manager about project status
- Develop preliminary drawings for project feasibility studies
- Develop design details together with rest of project team in consultation with section
manager - Civil design of elements of projects and review of design with the Section Manager and
other Engineers where applicable. - Assisting colleagues and technicians in tasks, monitor progress, and answer queries to
achieve design intention. - Preparation of civil layouts and detailed drawings
- Ensure that information is prepared and issued to the Professional Team and
contractors timeously and in accordance with the agreed program - Measurement and preparation of schedules of quantities for inclusion in Tender
Documents - Research and assist in preparing written Engineering reports
- Stormwater & stormwater management design
- Sewer services design
- Water reticulation design
- Roads design
- Earthworks Design & quantities
- Visit sites as and when required to monitor the progress of the work. Ensure the works
are in accordance with the drawings, specifications and instructions. Record
inspections in the Site Instruction Book - Report deviations from drawings, specification and instructions to Section Manager.
Where identified, advise contractor that work is not in compliance with drawing
specifications and instructions by recording deviations in Site Instructions Book. - If required by the Section Manager, attend scheduled project meetings, progress
meetings / site meetings - Ensure that the clients interests with respect to project program and contractual issues
are protected at all times - Assist in the preparation of tender inquiries, issue tender documents, preparing tender
reports and submitting tender recommendation to client as Professional Team - When visiting a site, filing of all project correspondence promptly
- Preparation and updating of Project Drawing List
- Issuing drawings to all relevant parties
- Receipt and recording of drawings from other parties and filing them in project files
Requirements:
- Relevant Autocad, Modelmaker or Civil 3D experience.
- Civil Technical Diploma if relevant.
- Revit experience will be an advantage
