Job Description
- Must have a National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in general office administration or data capturing, with 3–5 years demonstrated experience in pallet control or managing pallets/equipment in a logistics or supply chain environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting, along with skills in Microsoft Word
- Must have 2–3 years’ experience using Syspro or similar ERP software and be familiar with CHEP pallet systems
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Processing pallet transactions accurately and efficiently, completing all relevant documentation promptly to support operational activities.
- Maintaining and updating internal pallet schedules to enable proactive planning and effective inventory management.
- Generating and submitting timely pallet reports to track key performance metrics and aid informed decision-making.
- Managing transporter pallets effectively, monitoring movements, coordinating with logistics partners, and reconciling any discrepancies.
- Controlling and monitoring costs related to pallet management, identifying opportunities to optimize utilization and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Performing daily follow-ups and recovery of outstanding pallets using Customer Record Cards, maintaining precise records for audit purposes.
- Compiling monthly Group Pallet Reports to deliver performance insights and analysis across sites.
- Assisting sites and teams in managing pallets cost-effectively and promoting best practices in pallet handling.
- Handling pallet returns, managing relationships with suppliers, and ensuring accurate accounting and efficient processing of returns.
- Upholding health and food safety standards by following all relevant rules, procedures, and training requirements in pallet-related activities.
