About the Role
The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining employee records, and providing administrative support to the payroll and HR functions in compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly wages accurately and within required deadlines
- Capture and verify employee hours, overtime, leave, and deductions
- Ensure payroll data integrity and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information
- Administer and process all third-party payments, including union subscriptions, bargaining council contributions, garnishee orders, and other statutory deductions
- Prepare payroll-related reports as required
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll and employee data
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- VIP / Sage 300 Payroll Certification
- Experience working with a biometric time and attendance system (Jarrison advantageous)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
