Purpose: As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring electrical components and equipment to meet the companys operational needs. Your role will involve negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory, and ensuring that purchases align with budgetary and quality standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities (Duties Include but not limited to): 1. Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for electrical products and components. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best deals. Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess stock and reduce costs. Assess and verify the quality of received goods, ensuring they meet company standards and specifications. Confirming all stock received timeously to site or stores and keep the relevant Project manager updated. Following up on outstanding orders timeously. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and address any concerns. 2. Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and new products to make informed purchasing decisions. Analyse pricing trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly. 3. Documentation and Reporting: Preparation of Requisitions, ensure they are authorized by the correct requestor /Project manager. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information. Saving the POs and Requisitions in correct site folders in an orderly manner. Keep record of BEE Suppliers and ensure updated BEE Certificates are always obtained. 4. Maintenance Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure timely and effective repairs. Request for quotations Issue Vehicle Maintenance / Repair Requisition and take for signing to Lennon (In Lennons absence take to Alan) (and Keep Safety manager updated that requisition has been signed). Once Requisition is approved vehicle to be booked in for repair or maintenance and Safety Manager to be updated. Proof of Repair / Maintenance i.e Invoice to be submitted to safety manager and attached to requisition and handed in to Accounts for payment.5.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety requirements 6.Collaboration: Assisting stores with Stock take to familiarize with items and Quantities Stock Take done once a month on a Saturday. 7.Learning and Development Engage in training opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge Valid Driver’s License Computer Literate(MS Oice) Qualifications (Advantageous) Team player Ability to deal with pressure and multitask Negotiation Skills Communication Skills Analytical Skills Attention to Detail Organizational Skills Problem-Solving Skills
