About the Role
As a Parts Salesman, you will be responsible for selling parts to repair defects and meet customer needs, ensuring a first-time fix. You will also handle telephonic queries for the Sales Department, assist with personal development, and contribute to departmental marketing plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell parts to repair defects and meet customer needs, ensuring a first-time fix
- Listen to customers’ explanations and have a clear understanding of part/component location
- Handle telephonic queries for the Sales Department when required
- Show interest in personal development and willingness to learn more about the product
- Assist in keeping the parts department clean and orderly
- Record all parts used on the job card
- Follow prescribed cash, credit, and cheque processing procedures at the point of sale
- Handle warranties, new return merchandise, and follow up on shortages
- Ensure correct items are picked the first time
- Understand office dynamics
- Deal with suppliers of consumables when on site and when placing orders
- Ensure all consumables are handled and recorded accurately
- Contribute to departmental and dealership marketing plans as required
- Secure stores from fire, damage, or theft by implementing company policies
- Observe discount policy and ensure full valuation received for items returned for credit
- Monitor suppliers’ prices and report significant changes to the Parts Manager
Requirements
- Matric or higher
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Code 8 licence
- Evolve system experience
