About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Head of Supply Chain to join our dynamic team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our goal-oriented organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain functions, aligning with our core purpose of “protecting life”. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and confident individual to take on a strategic leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead S&OP processes to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and financial planning.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless product flow.
  • Oversee demand forecasting and production planning for 510 sterile pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels across both manufacturing sites and distribution channels.
  • Manage strategic sourcing and supplier relationships for raw materials, packaging, and services.
  • Oversee warehousing operations at both manufacturing sites, ensuring GMP compliance and inventory accuracy.
  • Manage distribution logistics across African markets, including cold chain and controlled substances where applicable.
  • Ensure supply chain operations comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., SAHPRA, WHO, FDA).
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including disruptions, shortages, and regulatory changes.
  • Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain management.
  • Relevant business management qualification.
  • At least 10 years experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 5 years experience at senior management level.
  • Operational experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in quality and regulatory compliance within a cGMP facility.
  • Business and operational planning including experience with an ERP system.
  • Experience in managing strategic suppliers/partners.
  • Experience in having faced successfully local and/ or international quality audits.
