About the Role
Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and supporting HR policies and tools, managing industrial relations, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environment regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the group’s HR policies and tools, and provide support to management on human resources issues
- Assist site managers in the management of HR issues in line with business objectives
- Implement an efficient and integrated strategy for staffing, recruiting, induction, training, career management, etc., at the site level
- Ensure efficient payroll and administration processes
- Guarantee working conditions in compliance with group Health, Safety and Environment policies and South African regulatory requirements
- Manage Industrial Relations with local employee representatives, unions, and the bargaining council
- Implement group and country HR policies and processes within the company’s management system
- Develop new HR policies as required
- Report relevant HR information to the division
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a specialisation in HR Management
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in an HR function within an automotive industrial environment
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity
- Strong knowledge of Labour Law and experience in a challenging industrial environment
- Industrial Relations experience in a challenging manufacturing environment
- Strong supervisory/management experience in HR (especially in an automotive manufacturing environment)
- Familiarity with HR information and payroll systems
- Familiarity with HR audits
- International mindset
- Results orientation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Minimum bilingual (English required)
