About the Role
Tsebo Catering Solutions is seeking an experienced Production Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver high-quality meals consistently, safely, and cost-effectively. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning, cooking, supervising staff, and ensuring that all food produced meets Tsebo’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and oversee the production of all daily meals according to menus and specifications.
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow Tsebo recipes, production plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Support menu planning and introduce improvements where needed.
- Lead and coordinate kitchen staff during production.
- Allocate tasks to cooks and food service assistants.
- Enforce HACCP, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times.
- Complete and maintain daily food safety documentation, including temperature logs and cleaning checklists.
- Assist in planning production sheets, recipes, and batch cooking schedules.
- Support client events, special meals, and dietary needs when required.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Culinary or Professional Cookery Qualification (advantageous).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Chef in catering, hospitality, or industrial food service.
- Strong knowledge of batch cooking, production planning, and volume catering.
- Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP.
