About the Role
An exciting position for an Electrical Draughtsman has become vacant at a leading Electrical Engineering company in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing and developing electrical systems using Design Software/AutoCAD Electrical.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical Distribution Boards (DBs) and Motor Control Centres (MCCs) according to client specifications
- Generate Quality Control (QC) documentation as per designs
- Generate parts list as per designs
- Generate Input/Output (IO) list/cable schedule as per designs
- Liaise with production manager and panel building team
- Liaise with suppliers and clients
- Re-issue designs as per workshop/site installation redlines
- Draw up drilling patterns from detailed layouts for manufacture
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
- Collaborate with engineers to create electrical designs that meet project requirements and codes
- Produce accurate drawings for electrical systems, including power Distribution Boards and Motor Control Centres
Requirements
- 3 Years’ experience with AutoCAD Electrical Software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical industry (Industrial Sector would be advantageous with water/wastewater treatment works and pump station process experience)
- Computer literate and able to import and export automatically generated reports to and from AutoCAD Electrical in Excel format
