About the Role
Our client is looking for a driven and technically skilled Junior Electrical Engineer / Technician to join their innovative team. This role is essential in supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical infrastructure across a variety of projects, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand electrical services related to buildings and renewable infrastructure systems, mining infrastructure requirements, commercial construction industry practices, etc.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and standards.
- Develop electrical designs and specifications.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Oversee construction activities, provide technical guidance, and resolve any problems that may arise during the construction phase.
- Conduct quality control checks and site inspections.
- Prepare conceptual designs and evaluate different options objectively, both technically and commercially, based on project goals/requirements.
- Provide technical support and expertise to clients.
- Travel to sites as needed for client interaction and/or OEM supplier premises.
- Report and escalate problems to management as needed.
Requirements
- National Diploma or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
- 23 years experience in the electrical or consulting industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design standards, codes and practices.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office / Google Suite.
- Experience with design software (Revit / AutoCAD will be advantageous).
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems (PVSyst / PVsol advantageous).
- Understanding of building services, mining infrastructure, and commercial construction practices.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
