About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the safe and cost-effective execution of maintenance work to improve the availability and reliability of plant and equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the work unit to achieve work unit objectives
- Determine resources (labour and materials) required and allocate overtime work
- Analyse and interpret Planned Maintenance Reports (Hours per department, hours per Artisan, etc.)
- Analyse and interpret Breakdown Reports (Manufacturing downtime, top 10, etc.)
- Diagnose plant and equipment problems (fault finding) and identify opportunities to modify, upgrade, improve or replace equipment and spares
- Maintain register of all electrical hardware on site and backups of all installed software

- Trade/technical knowledge: Manufacturing plant / Automotive industry manufacturing
- IATF16949 and ISO14001
- Electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of technical aspects of maintenance and machinery as required
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma or N6 qualification in engineering with a dual trade in Electro-mechanical, preferable.
- Trade tested in a technical field or Engineering principles

- Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
Customer Relations
- Foster and maintain customer relations
Supplier Relations
- Foster and maintain supplier relations
- Identify opportunities for improvements with suppliers
Financial Control
- Monitor performance against budget (expense controls, variances, etc.)
- Initiate requests for CAPEX/Disposal/Transfers
- Participate in the Audit process
- Adhere to Financial Policies and Procedures
- Protect company assets (working capital & fixed assets)
- Detect and prevent fraud
SHE
- Conduct continuous Risk Assessments in the workplace
- Conduct Planned Task Observations in the workplace
- Identify potential hazards and critical safety issues in the workplace
- Address workplace hazards and risks
- Apply safety, health and environment practices and legal requirements when working on machines and equipment
Quality Management System
- Monitor and maintain Quality within the Maintenance Function
- Comply with the requirements of the Maintenance Quality Systems
- Ensure that the maintenance department works within the ISO/TS Quality System as well as conformance to the ISO 14001 standard
Policies and Procedures
- Develop and update Maintenance Policies, Procedures, Protocols, Work Instructions, Codes of Practice, etc.
- Ensure implementation and compliance of Maintenance Policies and Procedures
