About the Role

The Head of Business Development will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive growth, expand market share, and build a high-performing team to achieve ambitious revenue targets. This role involves fostering strategic partnerships with corporates, government, funders, and industry leaders, to ensure revenue targets are achieved while aligning business development with the company’s vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a business development strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision, growth objectives, and market positioning to achieve revenue targets.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer behaviours to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Lead, mentor and manage the business development team, set performance targets, and monitor progress to ensure individual and team performance targets are achieved.
  • Develop pricing strategies, and sales incentives to maximize profitability and competitiveness while meeting customer expectations.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or a related field, with a strong track record of driving growth and expansion.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and competitor activities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
