About the Role
The Safety Officer is a critical role that ensures the safety of our clients, employees, and assets in Pretoria North. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our comprehensive safety management systems, conducting site inspections, and providing expert advice on safety-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) and ensure ongoing updates
- Ensure compliance with safety legislation and internal Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Maintain Road Transport Management System (RTMS) compliance and support audits
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and close out findings
- Identify and address risks, unsafe acts, and non-conformances
- Manage and investigate incidents, including reporting and corrective actions
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning
- Communicate safety updates, alerts, statistics, and legal changes
- Liaise on medical inductions and exits with clients and service providers
- Maintain and update safety documentation, policies, and procedures
- Ensure all legal permits, licences, and compliance requirements are up to date

- Grade 12 (required)
- SAMTRAC or related qualification (required)
- English and Afrikaans language proficiency (Required)
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Word and Excel) (required)
