About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team in Pretoria. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and compliant payroll processes, supporting a smooth employee experience, and advancing your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll transactions on the Payroll system (appointments, increases, terminations, increases, transfers, contributions, and deductions, etc)
  • Communicate payroll deadlines, policies and procedures
  • Prepare all monthly reconciliations (salary, tax, medical aid, provident funds)
  • Prepare payroll-related management information as requested
  • Provide payroll and leave reports to the business units monthly
  • Load invoices on SAGEX3 with adequate reconciliations to the payroll system
  • Prepare payment requisitions for all salary-related transactions, including directors remuneration
  • Maintain adequate record-keeping and support for transactions recorded on the Payroll system
  • Register companies with the relevant authorities (SARS, Workmens Compensation and Department of Labour)
  • Prepare, reconcile and submit declarations in respect of EMP201s, EMP501s, UIF declarations and Compensation declaration
  • Generate and release employee IRP5s and payslips
  • Administer the Groups Medical Aid and Provident Fund portals including updating information, requesting schedules and querying inaccurate information provided
  • Provide support to the HR Team in terms of process integration and other information required (including but not limited to preparation on dummy payslips, manual leave calculations etc)
  • Prepare information for the internal and external auditors
  • Primary liaisons with the PaySpace consultants in respect of the Payroll system
  • Administer the payroll system and other related controls, including access controls and back-up management
  • Assist with queries from the respective authorities (SARS, Workmens Compensation and Department of Labour), internal auditors and external auditors
  • Assist with all staff related queries on a daily basis

Requirements

  • 6-8 years experience in payroll administration
  • Knowledge of Labour Legislation impacting on payroll
  • Payroll calculations
  • SARS requirements including tax directives
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Qualifications

  • Degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • Certificate in payroll (advantageous)
