About the Role

The Primavera Project Planners role is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team in Pretoria. As a key member of our project controls environment, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring consistency and reliable progress reporting, and implementing planning logic to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and set up project schedule with project stakeholders input using Primavera
  • Follow project planning processes and company procedure on all assigned projects
  • Ensure consistency and reliable progress reporting
  • Highlight any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager, and assist with innovative and appropriate planning advice
  • Implement planning logic, understanding inter dependencies and knock-on effects
  • Highlight critical path, Earned Value, and appropriate resource loading
  • Track baseline vs actual progress on schedules
  • Highlight risks to ensure project completion on time – raise early warnings with possible impacts to project schedule
  • Weekly reporting to internal and external parties by means of schedule updates and progress reporting
  • Assist subcontractors, align, and integrate project schedules and progress reports

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification advantageous, professional registration highly recommended
  • 5-10 years experience in mining or large infrastructure projects
  • Experience in a similar role, planning of large construction and installation projects
  • Knowledge of shut down projects will be advantageous (for some assignments)
  • Primavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essential
  • Understanding of fabrication and installation projects
